Boydells Dairy Farm
Boydells Dairy Farm is a small working farm run by Kiley and family in Wethersfield. Boydells Dairy Farm is open to the public from April to August and specialises in sheep milking. During these open months visitors can go on a guided tour of the farm, Adults £8, Children £7 and Under 3’s free. You’ll see all the animals, from newborn lambs in Spring, sheep shearing, pigs, llamas, donkeys, brush the Shetland Ponies, and if your are lucky see some baby chicks and kittens. The main part of a visit is normally the sheep being milked. Other things to do include taking the tractor and trailer rides, enjoy the picnic area next to the shallow stream and the little ride on pedal tractors!
The farm covers 42 hectares (105 acres) of which is used to produce food for the animals in the form of grass. Some of the grass is made into hay. There are 300 milking ewes and their offspring constitute the bulk of the livestock, but also have cattle, goats, pigs and poultry, plus pony, donkey and llama.
