Finchingfield's Green and Pond

Finchingfield’s Green and Pond is at the centre of this beautiful village. You’ll never get tired of the view of Finchingfield as you come down into the village on the B1053 from Saffron Walden. From this higher elevation you can see The Green, War Memorial, pond, humpback bridge and all the surrounding beautiful cottages overlooking the pond. It would be hard to find a village as picturesque in Essex, let alone the Country.

The Green has many benches to sit on, providing plenty of space to sit and relax while taking in the views, or even a picnic. In the pond you’ll see the ducks and if you are lucky, maybe some baby ducklings too! Also on the Green is the Finchingfield War Memorial to remember those from the First and Second World Wars. Either side of the pond there is the humpback bridge for road traffic and on the other side a bridge for pedestrians.

Surrounding The Green and Pond you will find lots of small businesses. From coffee shops and restaurants like Winners, Picture Pot Tearoom and Zafra Pasta Bar And Grill. To pubs like The Fox on the Green, The Finchingfield Lion and The Three Tuns further up the hill as you head towards the Church.
