Guildhall Museum, Library & Heritage Centre

The Guildhall in Finchingfield, Essex is a historic building that was built in 1470 and is now a heritage venue located in the heart of the village on Church Hill. It is home to the village museum, library, resource center and Guild Room that can be hired out.

The Guildhall was built by the Guild of the Holy Trinity to house priests and provide a schoolroom for boys. It has been used for many purposes, including a village school, bridewell, and civic administration. The building fell into disrepair after World War II and was restored using inappropriate materials. In 2008, the Finchingfield Guildhall trust was formed and the Guildhall was saved and restored using ancient techniques and local materials.
